If you want to get away to see Thailand as a way to escape your data recovery London job, then a Thailand holiday package may just be the way to go. These packages offer you a great way to see the best of what Thailand has to offer and hassle free. This can all be done over a short time. When you take such a deal you won’t have to worry about formulating a fun itinerary, good accommodations, and finding the best airfare.

Thailand may be an exciting holiday destination yet not all the holidays packages to Thailand are equal. Chances are your decision on a particular Thailand package holidays will depend largely on the vacation time you have and your budget. Here some tips and to keep in mind when choosing a Thailand holiday package deal.

Keep in mind that travel agents are in business to make money. So when they use the words “Discount rate” be cautious. Often these kinds of rate are offered for a very short time forcing you to act when you did not want to.

The Thailand weather is humid and hot throughout the year but tourists mostly visit from mid-October to late February which is the dry season. So book your Thailand package for these months.

Be aware that any Thailand holiday package that says it is “all inclusive” does not necessarily mean that it is the same thing for everyone. Find out what is included from the flights, accommodations, food, to taxes.

Find out exactly where the accommodation is going to be. There are hotels located right on the beach or in built up areas. Find out what attractions and activities are close to your hotel. It is a good idea to also check hotel reviews of what is being offered as accommodations.

Visiting the exotic country of Thailand is a dream for many of you and I can tell you it is a good dream to have. It can be costly to buy certain things in the country but there are ways you can save money while you are there. One easy way to save money in Thailand is to eat local food. Local food is not only less expensive than other non-local cuisines, but it is also the best way to experience and explore the local culture.

Another money-saving tip is to travel second class. While “second class” sounds undesirable, it is actually perfectly comfortable, and costs substantially less than first class. Second class fares and accommodations might be a little less roomy than first class, but are quite acceptable and budget-friendly.

Public transport is another easy way to save money. Buses and trains not only cost less, but are also quite convenient, and offer a pleasant way to enjoy Thailand compared to the frenetic, and more expensive, taxis and tuk-tuks. If you are pregnant I do not recommend that you travel by tuk-tuks especially if you are staying in the capital Bangkok, as there is so much traffic that should there be an accident you are likely to get seriously injured and it is unlikely that you could make a Birth Injury claim, or any other claim for that matter, against the driver.

Taking advantage of extended-stay accommodation rates is another way to save money. If you will be staying in a certain spot for more than a week, ask the guesthouse or rental if there is a discounted extended-stay rate. This is a good idea if you are in a central location that allows for easy day trips to surrounding areas.

Another way to save money on accommodations is to take advantage of shared dormitories in hostels and guesthouses. It’s cheaper, and also a great way to meet fellow international travelers, share travel tips, and trade reading materials.

You have the option of planning a vacation in Thailand or in nearby tropical islands. However, it is very important to avoid spontaneous decisions when you are planning a vacation on a nearby island. Thailand is a developed country and offers numerous resources and facilities for the modern traveler.

Your child may even find a R4 3DS card for his or her Nintendo gaming console when on a vacation in Thailand. However, the same need not be true for an island that is accessible only by boat. If you are planning for a rustic and rural holiday in the lap of nature, you must be prepared to for compromises as far as facilities and amenities are concerned. The last thing you want is to make a spontaneous decision and finalize the booking only to discover that the place does not even have running water.

There are other islands which may be very popular for natural beauty but may not have anything in terms of family entertainment. If you are planning a honeymoon trip, you may have virtually nothing to do once the sun sets on certain islands. There will be no nightlife worth speaking off and this will render your trip a very boring affair. How can you solve this problem? Do your homework well in advance. Never make the mistake of thinking that you can find the right solution by simply spending five minutes on the internet. You might be prepared to research for a few days to make sure you get the decision right.

Thailand may finally calm down for a while following a decisive victory by the Pheu Thai party led by Yingluck Shinawatra a 44 year old woman making her Thailand’s first female Prime Minister. A report in The Telegraph today hints at the army being placed in a weakened position which will allay fears of further violence on Bangkok’s streets. All of this is great news for tourists.

Despite Thailand being one of the tourist hotspots of the world, fears over the recent violence have prevented many people from going and scared off a lot of businesses in the capital of Bangkok. Following the election this may all change and with mobile phone companies eager to make further inroads to Thailand, the future looks bright. Many providers are hoping to provide tourists with incentives to use their services and are aiming to use marketing slogans such as access internet worldwide and reduced roaming charges to make their point.

Many up and coming internet and broadband providers are already investing heavily in the Thai market with companies to be found all over Bangkok all breathing a small sigh of relief now that the election is over. As the new government has made the economy its key priority in stabilising Thailand, tourists can look forward to better rates on travel and the internet. The government will be eager to reestablish Thailand’s reputation as a tourist destination in the east. To do this they will be focusing on championing the rural poor who have been such a key support in their election victory.

Thailand is back on the up.

The first time I visited Thailand was on my honeymoon, and I didn’t want to come back! There were so many reasons to stay! The people, the culture, the food, the beauty…who would want to come back! I had to literally stop myself from taking up a few secondary teaching jobs in Thailand, just so I could stay for long!
Thailand offers a lot of things to a tourist, whether its the mountains of Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand or the sandy beaches of Krabi island. It has something for everyone! The best thing for me, I think were the wonderful Thai massages. Laying beneath the clear blue sky with the ocean, right in front, while a Thai masseur massaged away your troubles. Heaven!
Thailand is also very popular for its cuisine. Whether its raw papaya salad, morning glory, or pad thai noodles, it was amazing food, every step of the way. They use special herbs like lemon grass in their food, that keeps them fit. No wonder they all have such lean bodies and great skin and hair!
One thing that will drive women crazy about Thailand is shopping! Bangkok is the hub for shopping for designer clothes, shoes, bags and accessories and the best part is that its all so affordable! You can shop for the most chic dresses and bags without burning a hole in your pocket! It’s like a dream come true for every woman! No wonder Thai women are always immaculately dressed, it almost looks like you’re at a fashion show!
If you haven’t been to Thailand, this is your chance! There’s no other place that will offer you the best of hospitality!

One of my favorite times to visit Thailand is when the local New Year celebrations are taking place, usually in April in the western calendar. OK, maybe some places will be closed, but most bars and restaurants are open until all hours, catering to the partying locals as well as partying visitors. I was once given the choice between spending a couple of weeks in April in a grotty Thai hostel or five-star Lanzarote villas, and I didn’t hesitate to choose the first option!
Tourists often refer to New Year or Songkran as the water festival, as H2O features very prominently in all the celebrations. In fact, you can’t safely walk the streets in Thailand during Songkran without being jumped by marauding teenagers with garden hoses and super soakers, intent on drenching anyone they come across. Don’t get mad, get even. Buy your own super soaker and hit them back! It can be quite pleasant, anyway, as the heat in Thailand during April is pretty fierce. I’m often a bit disappointed if I don’t get back to my hostel completely dripping wet!
It all stems from a religious tradition, when water that had been blessed by the elders would be sprinkled on family and friends. This sprinkling has developed into soaking, and family and friends has become anyone within reach of your hose! It’s not even blessed water any more, just the regular stuff that comes out of the tap. It’s great fun, mind you, and it makes a difference to be happy to be wet at New Year. If you end up wet during the British New Year celebrations, that probably means it’s been tipping it down with rain….

One of the best things about travelling around the world is being able to sample the different foods and national specialities that are on offer, and Thailand is certainly no exception! Once you’ve got used to the heavy traffic smells in the city streets, which always reminds me of the red diesel we used to get delivered to our country cottage in the UK, your taste buds will soon start to enjoy your holiday in Thailand as much as you are!

A lot of British people are actually pretty savvy about Thai cuisine these days, as there are more and more restaurants being opened in our cities and towns that feature the traditional dishes and ingredients from the South-East Asian country. Probably the most famous is the green curry paste which has become so synonymous with Thailand it is even known as Thai green curry in most UK restaurants and pubs! Green curries are often just as hot as the better known red curries that you find in Indian and other Asian cooking, but it is a lot sweeter, which I find makes the heat easier to bear.

As with most Asian countries the main staples, eaten alongside your meat or fish dishes, are rice and noodles. But even here Thai chefs manage to do something unique and unusual. The indigenous rice in Thailand is jasmine rice, usually steamed and served with chillies or lemon juice, while sticky rice is an interesting take on the classic dish; the unusual blend and mix of starches make the individual grains stick together. Perfect for soaking up all that extra delicious green curry sauce!

Phuket is undoubtedly one of the greatest beach destinations of Thailand, The place offers some of the most luxurious accommodations of Thailand, and you will have some of the most memorable moments of life while basking in the warm sun near the Andaman Sea. A holiday in Phuket is just the thing to keep your sanity in self storage mode.

The place can be commuted from the Thai mainland through two bridges, like a pendant hanging from the Thai mainland. The history of Phuket dates back to the period when it was an important commercial harbor from where rubber was traded. The place has changed since then. Today it can be called a conspicuous part of Thailand tourism.

If you take a walk around the town you will feel the richness of Phuket’s past. Tin mining was once an important industry in Phuket. You will get a reflection of the mining aristocracy as you look at the grand old mansions. The town has a unique charm of its own and walking around it is really pleasant. The town is a great blend of the old and the new. There are old cafes and temples as well as modern shops and other amenity centers. On the Thailand Road you will see beautiful architecture that has Chinese and Portuguese touch to them. On Dibuk road you will find hostels that are very popular with backpackers. You can also try making a stay in one of these hostels as they are pretty cheap.

Phuket once had a long stretch of rain forest. But most of it is gone with commercial constructions. Therefore, part of the place has been declared as a national park to save the last bit of the rain forest. The Khao Phra Thaeo is a national park that is ideal for trekking. There are waterfalls inside the park. The park has undertaken the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project to save the gibbons that have been abandoned as pets. The Sirinath National Park is also very famous. A visit to this national park will give you an idea of what mangrove forest with salt water swamps are.

There’s crime in every country, but when backpacking around Thailand it’s really important to remember that you are a distinctive traveller and that thieves will target you. Make sure you look after your rucksacks – thieves have advanced lockpicking techniques and aren’t afraid to cut through the security you’ve put on your bags. Try not to leave your possessions out of sight, and where possible keep them in a safe or in a locker at a reputable hotel. Consider buying a tamper-proof cover for your bag, which will prevent people from accessing the outer pockets and pouches of your receptacles. If taking public transport, be very aware that people can pickpocket you. In crowded places it would be a clever plan to carry your rucksack on the front of your body rather than on the back in order to have better control over who accesses it. What’s more, remember the pockets of loose trousers can be infiltrated by intruders, so remember to do up any buttons you may have available and put your important possessions (wallet, passport, keys, mobile phone, direction, tube map etc) in pockets which cannot be compromised. Consider secret pouches and bum bags which are slightly safer than traditional luggage. There’s so much to see in Thailand, so don’t risk ruining your holiday – just follow these simple steps and enjoy your holiday or gap year. The same rules apply to other countries as well, not just Thailand. Personally, I’d recommend going to Southend on Sea instead.

If you enjoy the hustle and bustle of traffic, Thailand would be perfect for you. The reality is many have a hatred for traffic and chaos when waiting in a car as your blood slowly boils. You could well risk calling upon the services of US car support to transport your vehicle to join you in Thailand, but if you would rather sample the transport first hand, what would you have in store for you?

If you are travelling long distances, then the best type of transport is and will always be a bus. If however you are looking at going short distances, and are a dab-hand at them, a motorbike is always useful. The use of the train is available, if you need a very long and slow journey, while the road is usually taken up by the likes of freight. However the use of taxis or Tuk-Tuks (three wheeled vehicles) have increased, particularly in Bangkok since the 1990s.

While some may be used to the use of motorways to get from one place to another, the Thai motorway network is small, and only provided for relief of Bangkok’s heavy congestion. The Thai Government is now however looking into expanding the motorway system, one step at a time.

While the use of canals of boat transportation isn’t always required, it may be worth a try in order to really get amongst the culture the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok is the place to go, full of locals.

Thailand is known for their Tuk-Tuks, a three wheel vehicle available for private use and hire. They are generally available to most Asian countries and cities. The costs are always negotiated in advance, although the vehicle exposes those using the transport export to the large amount of carbon fumes.
